The best way to ensure you book your selection for the right dates is to make contact with us via email. Once you have secured your dates and the items or packages you desire the following may also assist

Q: How are the costs calculated?
Our item are listed in our inventory section of Protea Events Hire as either individually available items or in packages that we have created based on popular feedback and at greatly discounted prices over individually selected items.

If you want to create your own “package” please make contact and happy to help you do that and naturally, help you save some money.

Q: Is there a minimum order?
In principle, we have no minimum order if you are picking up from Langwarrin.

We do offer a muck-in and muck-out service where we also deliver and have a minimum spend of $400 plus a delivery/kilometre fee that
will not break the bank.

Q: What is the hire period?
Generally for the weekend – however we understand pickups on Friday and drop off on Monday – that’s fine too.

This concept also applies to mid-week and if there is a need
for a longer period please make contact to discuss as we will
most likely be able to accommodate.

Q: Where is pickup?
We are in Melbourne’s southeast – Langwarrin, Victoria.

Q: How do you calculate delivery?
This is a tough one – how long is a piece of string. There is actually an answer to this, it is twice half its length but to be entirely accurate we need more detail.

We will need to discuss the inventory and travel distance to be
able to lock in a delivery fee – we are not exorbitant so just let us
know your wish list and location.

Q: Can we visit you and see the items in person?
At this stage it is a little difficult –
lets put a design together and discuss your needs as
we may be able to accommodate once you know
pretty much what you want.

Q: How do I secure my selection, is there a deposit I can pay?
We require a non-refundable 30% booking fee (or deposit as some know it) to confirm any selection and secure the items and dates.
Full payment including any agreed delivery fees must be received 2 weeks before the event which is paid on invoice via direct deposit. We cannot deliver without receipt of full payment.

Since our entire collection is filled with beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces, we recommend reserving everything as early as possible.
We are also happy to discuss changes prior to the event, if the items you want are still available.

Q: What is the difference between a Bond and Booking Fee?
A bond will be calculated once you have your list or package finalised. This is a refundable bond on return of all the items in your package in the same condition we gave them to you.
In the event an item or items are damaged then we take repair or replacement fees from the bond and return to you the difference.

A booking fee is a percentage of the total rental fee and is not refundable.

Q: I have an idea but can’t find what’s in my mind on your website, can you help?
We should have been the Aussie Pickers – in short – we may have it and just not listed it – we will more likely have a friend that does have what you want – email us and tell us what’s on your wish list and we will do our best to locate it or brush the dust off it and make it ready for your selection.

Q: Unknown weather conditions
If mother nature decides to rain on your event then there is little we can do and therefore there is no credit.

We also ask that respect our items and anything that could be damaged because of the weather be relocated out of the weather so as not to be damaged and then incur a damage or replacement fee by you.

Q: Damaged items, what is your policy?
It will depend on the damage but there will be a fee to replace or repair the item.

Q: What if I have to cancel?
Please inform us as soon as possible if you have to cancel.
If the full balance has been paid and you wish to cancel we will retain the 30% booking fee or deposit, and the remaining amount will be re-paid in full.
